Mary E.M. Harris is associate professor of viola at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. A former member of the Oxford String Quartet, the Dakota String Quartet and I Musici de Montreal, Mary has also served as principal violist of the South Dakota and Fox Valley Symphonies and New American Chamber Orchestra, touring Europe extensively and performing at Korsholm, Casals, and other international festivals.

In addition to her position at Miami University, Mary is principal violist of ProMusica Chamber Orchestra in Columbus, Ohio, and was the featured soloist in a recent performance of “Bridge of Light,” by Keith Jarrett. She and ProMusica musicians, Kathy Borst Jones and Jeanne Norton are founding members of a flute, viola, harp ensemble COSMOS (cosmostrio.org).

Mary also performs with the Peter Britt Festival Orchestra in Jacksonville, Oregon, and the New Hampshire Music Festival in Plymouth, New Hampshire. She has performed at the Garth Newel Festival in Virginia and was principal violist of the Echternach Festival Orchestra in Luxembourg.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
