Wesley Woolard has been a member of the RSO since 1990 and Principal Trumpet since 1999. He received his Master of Music in Trumpet Performance from CCM-UC where he was a student of Eugene Blee. Prior to studying in Cincinnati Mr. Woolard studied trumpet in Belgium and performed with the Flemish Radio Orchestra. After leaving CCM, Mr Woolard was Principal Trumpet with the Veracruz Symphony Orchestra in Mexico. Now living in Cincinnati, Mr. Woolard has performed with all the major musical organizations in the area. He also teaches trumpet and chamber music at the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute.
An avid road cyclist, Mr. Woolard lives with his wife Evelien (RSO Principal Flute).
