Monica Koechlein

Monica was raised in Winamac, Indiana. After graduating from Purdue University in 1996, she began her teaching career in Richmond Community Schools as a Special Education teacher. During her 16-year teaching career, she earned a Master’s degree from Indiana University, and in 2007, was named RCS’ Secondary Teacher of the Year. In 2012, Monica assumed the presidency of the SKF Foundation. She enjoys serving the foundation board and people of Richmond in varying roles. Monica joined the Richmond Symphony Orchestra as its executive director in 2013. She remains passionate about strengthening the community by forming unique collaborations to maximize resources and impact. “It is a unique experience to work in the non-profit world in two very different capacities. The spirit of this community is undeniable, and I feel blessed to play a role in so many of the positive opportunities that are being created here.”
