The brand new music garden features three interactive music installations for children of all ages to enjoy. These installations allow you to dance to your own beat as you strum along metal piping, beat on hub caps and more.

The Music Garden is a project between Richmond Symphony Orchestra and Richmond Parks and Recreation Department.

Located by the pond in Glen Miller Park, Music Garden features three interactive music installations for everyone to enjoy. The musical sculptures were designed and installed by George Stallings and Jack Hodges.

We invite you to explore the wonderful music you can create at Music Garden.

The Richmond Parks and Recreation Department is excited by the number of visitors to the RSO Music Garden since its installation. This collaboration has been an essential improvement to bring the many benefits of play right here in Glen Miller Park.

Denise Retz, Superintendent Richmond Parks and Recreation

For the Music Garden, I try to use repurposed materials as much as possible. This adds to the time of the build, but it is gratifying to take used materials and make something new of them.
