Dear RSO Family,
I am so grateful for all the love you show this fine organization. Together, we have lifted the RSO to its strongest position. Your valued support through patronage, financial gifts and feedback have served to build the treasure we hold right here in east central Indiana.
Growth has been multi-faceted. Two new key leadership positions have undergone transition, and both have been very successfully filled: Maestro Andres Lopera as music director and Darin Sorley as personnel manager.
Together, we are experiencing renewed energy and excitement from the stage. Feedback from the musicians has been extremely positive. Statements of feeling challenged and trusted abound. I have heard the musicians refer to the programming as “dream repertoire” commenting that regional orchestras do not program these pieces due to the challenge of preparing for the performance in only a handful of hours. In addition, hospitality and the appreciation of the audience has a strong influence on their prioritization of choosing Richmond to play. As a result of this positive experience, we are seeing much greater personnel consistency within the orchestra. This has also led to greater energy and synergy on the stage, thus enhanced delivery in musical excellence.
I ask once again this year that you honor YOUR RSO with an end-of-year gift. Your gift serves as a vote of confidence in the existence of the RSO and its programming, outreach and direction. I also ask for your input: both why you give and where you want RSO to put its greatest focus. It’s your input that we will use to continue to set the vision of the organization.
Again, and again, and again, YOU are a partner in our success. RSO exists because YOU invest in US – you invest in YOUR Richmond Symphony Orchestra. YOU have had a direct impact on the growth and excellence we are witnessing together. And it’s with YOUR continued investment and input that together we will see RSO continue to reach new heights.
With warmest regards,
Monica Koechlein
